24/01/06 NEGLECTED TARTS

Last night, woke up at 2.45 a.m, dreamt of food. Dreamt that meimei posted pictures of mummy's fried rice on the baker's blog which I surfed happily before I slept. Was so hungry thus searched the fridge for food.

As I opened a small box of mummy's pineapple tarts, Wawa came running into the kitchen and looked at me with soulful eyes. Stomach was grumbling like mad, walked back to bed and enjoyed the tart. Guess Wawa was hungry and cold too so she decided to sleep on my bed.

Woke up again at 4 a.m, heard Wawa sneezing about 3 times at my feet. Cuddled her up into my arms to keep her warm.

6.06 a.m, hungry again. One more pineapple tart. Same great taste.

10 a.m, okie this time I shared the tart with Wawa finally. Her imploringly sad craving soulful eyes were impossible to resist. I said the magic word "mu mum!" and she flew into the room with helicopter tail. We shared the prize happily and enjoyed every single little bit of it.

When Mum baked those tarts, I was suffering from the side effects full force. Totally unaware of what's happening in my surroundings then, only groaning in pain and discomfort, puking or felt like puking. At least today, an intense urge to puke occurred after the medication, the rest of the day is still tolerable, not to a point I can neglect the wonderful pineapple tarts.

A bit of condensation after being taken out of the fridge

She chose organic brown sugar and organic flour for ingredients. The pineapples were so soft, yet slightly chewy with a sour tangy tingle, not overly sweet. So healthy yet delicious. Very little of it made this year because I can't eat much anyway, she only gave one container to Feng and left 3 for our own and visitors' consumption.

The amount of pineapple on each tart is amazingly generous, a huge ball of it.

No wonder these year she made so few...where got enough pineapple to go around~!

Hey anonymous again:

I love chinese new year. I love pineapple tarts too. We always have so many that they last for months afterwards.

Hmm, might just raid my own fridge :)
